The work of MAID students Jason Fletcher, Sebastian Popa, Merve Kahraman, and Weiche Wu for luxury Cognac producers Rémy Martin is celebrated at Maison & Objet 2012.
”FUTUR HERITAGE, EXPOSITION # 1
Exposition # 1 presents the works of design school students, all centred upon the ritual of tasting. On the initiative of the Comité Colbert, the Colbert International Design Workshop was founded to raise awareness towards young people about the luxury sector and introduce them to the savoir-faire of sector industries. Thus, eight students from Paris’ École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d’Art (National School of Applied Arts and Crafts, or ENSAAMA -Olivier de Serres) and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London came to Cognac, the very birthplace of
Maison Rémy Martin. Three months later, eight original projects came into being.
Original, creative, futuristic products of great artistic imagination, all devoted to the art of tasting. “Eight fresh and sharp perspectives on the heritage of our Maison, reflecting a dynamic and very positive outlook,” says Caroline Sarrot-Lecarpentier, Press and Public Relations Manager for Maison Rémy Martin.
“New ideas that help us better understand the way the younger generations view our company, which opens up new
avenues of inspiration and reflection.””
