Trust Me
The trust me project is an experiment in taking conceptual design beyond the gallery into everyday life. I devised and made three prototype objects to investigate peoples’ attitudes to and experiences of protection in the home, and placed them with volunteers.
The project will take products that users’ associate with as transitional or coping strategy objects that seduce us into feeling safe by their miss use, and attempt to make an intervention by making their current psychological reassurance physically obvious through generic archetypical language. By doing this I aim to look at the miss use of objects and make the user aware of the way people interact with objects and creating irrational beliefs because of them as well as highlighting the placebo effect offered by these objects.
