‘Don’t Use’ Project

People have the initial desire to identify and protect their belongings. I call it “the desire for private ownership”.

The desire is apparent to see when people lock their possessions or put notes saying “Don’t touch”. But no matter we lock it or not the desire is commonly existed in our belongings.

This project aims to expose the desire for private ownership that people have with everyday objects by preventing sharing. So both user and audience of the products can realize their desire.

The design can be used by those people who do have problems with sharing. But most important, I want to offer an opportunity for everyone to see their desire and think further about it. Dose it benefit us? Is it necessary? Etc.
