This project was run in conjunction with the Metropolitan Police, British Transport Police and the Home Office. Students were asked to look at bag design in relation to a context of use. In addition this had to consider issues of theft from, or of the bag. The project was therefore concerned with use, misuse and abuse. Research led to the identification of four main types of bag theft: dipping; snatching; slashing; lifting. The proposals shown below each address one or more of these.
