*21% of
British burglaries occur because the occupier left their door
unlocked. This project focusses on the interaction between people
and security systems, and also asks the question 'isn't it better
to act than to re-act?'.
Therefore,
this project seeks, not to devise a new way of securing the
domestic environment, but simply to make sure that everyone
uses that most simple of systems - the door key!
The 'Just
Lock It' range encompasses a range of everyday objects, all
of which carry the visual stimulus of the key motif. In addition
to this, all these objects have tags which, when they pass the
'masterkey' hung on the front door, trigger a final audio reminder
to 'just lock it'.
