The Future of Work… this project could have this name, but it’s not another pompous corporate publication willing to justify on holistic basis their vision and service to the customers.
It is instead a year-long, honest engagement with a very interesting subject, which led me very far from my intended outcomes, arriving to the design of the C*spot.
Making use of design-from-observation techniques, together with a more academic approach to the subject, I was able to outline an up-to-date body of knowledge on Work, Society and the present scenarios… we acknowledge there is a global urge for social networking and being connected, whereas work-hours have shifted from the old 9-to-5 to a new 24/7, thus increasing the gap for a satisfactory work-life balance.
the C*spot intends to be an answer to this scenario, a modern café providing a physical place that retrieves the historical values of the European coffee houses, spaces where work and leisure activities were almost perfectly blended together. The C*spot is a membership club built on casualty and networking opportunities, where creative professionals from various industries can meet and interact in a non-virtual environment, and be able to design and innovate and build up a social and professional network at the same time.
