Contemporary Design according to Kaare Klint's Methodology

The aim of my project is to design modern furniture according to the design methodology devised by Kaare Klint.
The question I am asking is to what extent can the design values of Kaare Klint engage with the contemporary lifestyle?
Along the way I wish to understand the current trends and philosophy in furniture design and campare them to those of Klint and those of his time. In a way I also wish to challenge certain current trends in furniture design and see if the statements made by people such as Henry Dreyfuss and Le Carpenter are still referred to by todays designers.
Is furniture design turning into fashion, something that changes with each season?
