The Tomato’s Factory social enterprise made in Sicily The Tomato ’s Factory is a cooperative set by local communities to promote and preserve the regional products and traditions of Sicily. The collaboration between agriculture, industry and tourism would be the key point for a sustainable development program. Offering new services for both tourists and locals it is possible to create an authentic interactive experience, a real life workshop. The main goals of the project are: regenerating and processing the actual wasted agriculture overproduction; using local manufacturer and resources to create meaningful design items; improving the collaboration and the communication between tourists and local communities; defining a model for a more sustainable form of tourism.
